Grantseeking Workshops

Do you need help getting started with grants? A workshop will get you started in a community of other emerging nonprofit leaders. There's a lot to consider, and we all do better when we work together.

The Grant Readiness Workshop is for nonprofits that have established their 501(c)3 or entered into a fiscal sponsorship and need to put the pieces in place to be grant-ready. Workshop participants will prepare to show potential funders that you will use their grant effectively.

The Grant Research and Writing Workshop breaks up the statement "Can't we find a grant for that?" into manageable pieces. This workshop includes one hour of individual consulting with Susan on a topic of your choice.

Grant Readiness Workshop

In this three-session workshop, you'll learn how to build your organizational and program budget, define your program model, prepare for outcomes tracking, understand how structure a balanced board of directors, and learn other best practices for small nonprofit management.

Participants will be ready to start the Grant Research and Writing Workshop.

Participants must have already have a 501(c)3 determination or entered into a fiscal sponsorship.

Cost: $200 for pilot class (Tuesdays from 6 to 7:30 pm on July 25, August 1, and August 8, 2023)

Grant Research and Writing Workshop

Emerging nonprofit leaders will define their organizations' budgetary and program needs from a grant funding perspective. We will discuss how to match those needs with funder guidelines and learn how to assess which funding opportunities are best suited to your organization.

Participants will review a range of application types and requirements. In the last phase of the workshop, participants will compose responses to the most common application questions and create a basic Letter of Inquiry.

This workshop includes one hour of individual consulting with Susan.

Cost: $700 for pilot class (Tuesdays from 6 to 7:30 pm on August 15, 22, and 29, and September 5, 12 and 19, 2023)

Additional Consulting for Workshop Participants

Participants in either workshop may engage Susan for additional consulting to build upon their workshop skills. Susan is also available to talk with your board about how they can connect your organization with grant makers. Please contact Susan to discuss virtual and in-person options.
